Ramped up from 7.1 to 8 megapixels, the S5800 retains the 10 times optical zoom (35mm equivalent to 38-380mm), high 1600 ISO (light sensitivity) that enables both exposure in low light conditions and faster shutter speeds for sharper pictures, and Super Macro Mode for close-up photography of objects as near as 1cm. This is an entry level advanced digital camera for users who want a powerful zoom in a body that is ultra compact in comparison to SLRs and has the option of both full automatic capability through its Intelligent Flash and 12 Scene Modes or the ability to work in full manual mode for creative work. A very nice added capability is its movie mode, which captures movies at 30 frames per second for as long as your memory card has capacity. This camera is also dual SD and xD memory card compatible.
