This camera is a new camera in the E series and can be viewed as an upgrade model on the E-410, but with noticeable design differences in a bigger, more holdable body with a sturdy grip. It adds image stabilisation technology to the spec carried by the E-410, which results in a gain of up to 4 stops of in light sensitivity through the practical use of slower shutter speeds. The LiveMOS sensor enables LiveView functionality in this 10 megapixel camera. As with all Olympus DSLRs this camera uses the Four Thirds lens and sensor standard that is smaller than APS-C but reduces the effects of shading around the periphery of the image and affords a more compact design. It is a technology feature driven camera for enthusiasts who want the latest ease of use features. It has a dual card slot for Compact Flash and xD memory cards.
This kit comes with the Zuiko 14-42 f3.5/5.6 lens which offers good persective from extra wide angle to normal/short telephoto.

Short Review:
For a compact DSLR, ergonomic are very good with a sturdy bulge on the shutter button side for better handling. Round the back a 2.5 inch Hypercrystal LCD makes viewing and reviewing your pictures possible even in bright outdoor conditions by using the sunlight to boost the monitors own brightness, and with a viewing angle of 176 degrees, showing pictures to a whole group of friends around you is not a problem.
With 10 megapixels you can get an 8×12 inch print at full resolution with greater enlargement possible to achieve high quality poster size prints. The TruePic III processor has been used to improve image processing time and offer enhanced camera operation over the E400’s processor, including better noise reduction at higher ISOs.
Zuiko ED14-42mm f3.5/5.6 lens – On Four Thirds cameras it has a 35mm equivalent focal length of 28-84mm. A good standard zoom lens covering the extra wide to normal/short telephoto perspective with aspherical lens elements to reduce colour and focussing aberrations and a 25 cm minimum focussing distance. Suitable as a standard lens on Four Thirds cameras for general photography. Works with the PPO-E05 lens port on the PTE03 underwater housing kit.
