At just 20.7 mm thick, this camera will fit into your jeans for nights out in the town taking party pics and its sculpted aluminium design will make a fashion statement of its own. The sliding lens cover looks impressive as a design element but also protects your lens when not in use against scratches. Round the back a 3.5 inch touchscreen LCD makes viewing and reviewing your pictures easy as well as the added convenience of performing menu functions without finding and pushing buttons.
With 8 megapixels you can get an 8×10 inch print at full resolution with greater enlargement possible to achieve high quality poster size prints. The 5 times Carl Zeiss optical zoom is a 35mm film equivalent to 35-175mm, which will give you a perspective from standard wide angle to telephoto for small group pictures and good portraits. It also has a 10 times digital zoom and up to 25 times smart zoom which is just a digital zoom that adjusts for optimum results when shooting on lower resolutions. The Bionz processor produces smooth colour tones with a good 14 bit colour conversion (12 bit is standard on entry level SLR cameras) and it enables faster processing for bursts up to 100 shots between half second intervals.
